Character Information
Name: Daryl
Fandom: D.A.R.Y.L.
Point in Canon: Near the beginning of the film, after he has escaped from Tascom the first time.
Age: Appears roughly 10-12 years old.
Personality: Daryl is a highly sophisticated Artificial Intelligence. He is a learning machine, assimilating information at an extremely high rate. However, because he has damaged his memory, he doesn't know what he knows, until it comes to him instinctively. He thinks he is a regular kid--albeit a sheltered, slightly naive one. He is curious, inquisitive, and considerate. He enjoys baseball, and bubble gum, and prefers chocolate ice cream over vanilla.
Brief History: (In your own words) The D.A.R.Y.L. project was commissioned by the United States government as an experiment in artificial intelligence, with the intention of creating a kind of super soldier. In spite of the name (Data-Analyzing Robot Youth Life-form) Daryl is not an android, but a cyborg--a human child with a supercomputer for a brain--physically indistinguishable from an ordinary ten-year-old boy.
Daryl's story begins when one of the original Tascom scientists in charge of the D.A.R.Y.L. project begins to have misgivings about the experiment. The scientist decides to free Daryl, but is killed in the process, and Daryl ends up short circuiting his memory. He wakes up in a strange graveyard, in Lawrence, Kansas, with no memory of who or what he is. All he knows is that his name is Daryl.
Powers/ Abilities: His computer brain gives him a number of unique capabilities, including exceptional reflexes, superhuman multitasking ability, and the ability to "hack" other computer systems.
Weaknesses: His body is mostly human, so he can be injured, and potentially killed.
Pb: Originally played by Barrett Oliver, but using Colin Ford due to image availability (and for the purposes of aging up).
